As with any insurance policy there are things that are covered and things that are not; all the things that are covered are written in the policy wording. Therefore prior to purchasing a wedding insurance product you should always read the policy wording to ensure that it meets your needs. If you have any problems or don't understand something in the Asian wedding insurance policy wording, we are more than happy to answer any queries on 01483 806 680.
Again, like all insurance policies, Shaadi insurance is there to protect you against things you don't know are going to happen. Therefore anything you do already know about that could lead to you making a claim would be excluded from cover. For example, if you knew your caterer was going to go bust and then you took out an Asian wedding insurance policy, this would not be covered.
Most insurers will offer a number of different policies based on the level of cancellation cover required. This is the amount it would cost you if you had to cancel your wedding in its entirety for one of the insured reasons.
Generally, the cost to purchase each level of cover will increase in line with the level of cancellation cover, so a policy with £50,000 cancellation cover will be more expensive than a policy with £15,000 cancellation cover. You can use our handy wedding insurance calculator to work out the total cost of your Shaadi, so you can decide on the appropriate level of cover.
Although it might be tempting to save a few pounds by getting a lower level of cover than you need, we wouldn't recommend this as in the event of a claim you would only be able to claim up to the limits of the level of cover you have purchased. When you think about the total budget for your Shaadi, the Asian wedding insurance premium is a tiny proportion of the overall cost.
However, if you purchase a policy and during the course of planning the wedding, your costs escalate putting. you into a higher level of cancellation cover, you can increase your cover levels by calling us on 01483 806 680 and paying the. difference between the two policies.
The Asian wedding insurance policy is designed for Indian weddings and Shaadis and can cover up to 6 events over 94 days. However we have another wedding insurance product called Dreamsaver available on www.weddinginsurance.co.uk that is designed for Western weddings with 1 wedding ceremony and 1 reception.
An Asian wedding insurance policy must be taken out in the names of the people getting married. However it can be purchased by anyone, providing that the person purchasing the policy can answer the ‘important questions’ on the policy.
If you need to make a claim, as long as you can provide proof of your financial contribution e.g. with a receipt or paid invoice, then you will be able to do so through the persons named on the policy.
Prices for Asian wedding insurance start at £59 for the Pearl level of cover with £15,000 of cancellation cover up to £175 for the Ruby cover with £50,000 of cancellation cover. All policies are a one off payment and can be purchased up to 2 years in advance of the final event.
Various extensions can be added to the policy with the payment of an additional premium such as public liability for the guests (public liability for the bride and groom is covered as standard), and marquee cover. Cover under the Ruby policy can also be extended to £100,000 cancellation cover with the payment of the appropriate additional premium.
